Student Parking Application, Procedures & Regulations

Students may now apply for 2022-2023 campus parking.  You will get an automatic confirmation email after you submit the application.  If you do not get that email, you need to try again or check your JUNK mail.

Students will receive an email indicating if they are approved for parking by July 29th.  Applications should be submitted by July 28th.  Late applications may not be proccesed before the start of school.


Do not apply if you do not have a FULL or RESTRICTED license.  Licenses will be checked when you pay and pickup your permit.

Please do not park on campus without a parking permit.  Parking without a permit is a behavior violation and can result in application denial next school year and other school consequences.  Your car may be booted or towed.


When space is available, parking is only available to Seniors and Juniors

Previous year(s) school fees should be paid in full to be eligible for campus parking.

Students must be current with all required vaccinations in addition to all campus parking requirements. 



Note: You must have a valid driver’s license (Restricted or Full) to apply for parking at OCHS.


Student Parking Regulations

Parking on campus is a privilege!

  1. Permission to park on campus is extended to Senior and Junior students ONLY—no exceptions.  Seniors get priority at the beginning of the school year.  Juniors will be assigned parking if space is available.

  2. Once assigned parking, students may have parking revoked following any violation of school rules. (Examples but not limited to: Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco/Vaping, cutting class, leaving campus w/o permission, fighting, bullying, harassment weapons, disrespectful behavior towards staff/students, and classroom work refusal).

  3. Students qualifying for parking pay a $25.00 OCBE fee (payable to OCHS) prior to the start of school and will receive an OCHS parking tag that must be displayed at all times from the windshield.  Information on parking pass payment and distribution will be emailed in late July.

  4. Students must have a valid driver’s license (Full or Restricted), not a permit, at time of registration/application.  Spaces will not be held for students who do not qualify or have a license yet.

  5. Parking tags are non-transferable.  No student may lend or sell their parking tag for any reason.  Violation of this policy may result in permanent loss of parking privileges for both students.

  6. Upon arriving at school, students are expected to exit their car, lock doors and enter school immediately.  Valuables should not be left in a vehicle and the student/parents understand that OCHS assumes no responsibility for the vehicle or its contents.

  7. Parking lots are off limits (8:45 – 3:45) during the school day.  Any student needing to go to a car must obtain a pass from an administrator.

  8. When leaving school property, the student will yield to all pedestrians and school buses. Students will exit the campus in an orderly fashion and will not pass cars in the line attempting to leave. 

  9. Students will be assigned a specific parking space.  Do not park in any other parking space (example:staff, visitor, athletic field or BAHS)

  10. Student tags MUST BE CLEARLY DISPLAYED AT ALL TIMES, or vehicles may be SUBJECT TO TOWING or Vehicle Boot (at the owner’s expense).  Towing fees are at the discretion of the towing company.  

  11. Students deemed driving reckless, speeding, or not following adult directions on school/OCBE grounds may forfeit their parking tag for the remainder of the school year.  The speed limit for campus parking lots is 15MPH.  Colonels drive speed limit is 15MPH.

  12. Student’s cars can be subject to random searches by the administration.

  13. Students losing their drivers licenses under No Pass-No Drive or other reasons will also lose their parking.

  14. Any motor vehicle violation (speeding ticket, etc) will result in suspension of parking for 6 months (or 3 months if the court diversion program is completed through the OC County Attorney).  A second violation in their school tenure will result in permanent suspension (per OCBE Policy 9017-F)

  15. Parking will be revoked for the remainder of the school year for any tobacco/e-cigg/vape, drug or alcohol violation.

  16. Students that acquire 3 tardies to school will lose parking for 30 days.  Parking will not be reinstated if a student is tardy to school during this suspension period.  If a student acquires 3 more tardy to school during the suspension period, they will lose parking for the remainder of the school year.  A second suspension for tardy to school will result in loss of parking for the reminder of the school year.

  17. Students with more than 6 unexcused absences at the end of the first semester will lose parking second semester.

  18. Parking violations may result in detention, warning stickers, vehicle boot, towing or other school based consequences determined by administrative staff.

  19. Student and Parent(s) acknowledge that they are familiar with OCHS and OCBE policies relating to automobiles as outlined in the OCHS student/parent handbook.

  20. Parking fee is non-refundable if parking is revoked.


Criteria for parking privileges:

  • Students with multiple campus parking violations the previous year will not be approved for campus parking.

  • Students with missing chromebooks/chargers, outstanding course fees or missing required immunizations will not get parking.

  • Students must have a valid driver’s license (Full or Restricted), not a permit, at time of registration/application.  Spaces will not be held for students who do not qualify.

  • Must be a Senior or Junior (Seniors get first priority).

  • Students must have passed (5 of 7, 4 of 6, or 3 of 5) classes the previous semester as required by KY No Pass/No Drive(KRS 159.051) and maintained a cumulative un-weighted 2.0 GPA to be eligible for parking privileges.

  • Prior year student attendance record must have no more than six (6) unexcused absences or six (6) unexcused tardies in the Spring Semester.

  • Any student who has been referred to the OCBE for truancy may not be eligible for parking privileges.

  • Students with serious cumulative disciplinary infractions (i.e. suspensions for drugs/alcohol, fighting, weapons, harassment/bullying, cutting school, disrespectful behaviors), having outstanding fees and/or obligations, not up-to-date on required immunizations, or repeated parking violations on campus will not be granted parking privileges.

  • Students must have demonstrated good faith effort on all state assessments and all other standardized tests to obtain parking privileges.

  • Students who fail to meet the eligibility requirements may reapply for parking privileges after the holiday (winter) Break if they meet criteria for parking.


If a student does not qualify, appeals must be made to the OCHS principal.  Appeals will be considered on a case-by-case basis and the decision of the OCHS principal is final.


    • School attendance is “frozen” at the end of the year. Parent notes, doctor’s notes, etc. will not be accepted to correct unexcused absent events that restrict students from campus parking.
    • Parking will be assigned by school administration.
    • Students will pay their $25.00 parking fee when they pick up their permit.
